Florida native John Racener is the new champion of the 2024 PokerGO Tour Mixed Games festival. The pro player took home $151,200 in the $10,200 buy-in triple stud event.
300 POY and 151 PGT Points for Racener
The bracelet winner and 2010 World Series of Poker main event runner-up skillfully outlasted all of the event’s 42 entries, which featured a combination of razz, seven-card stud, and stud eight-or-better.
Besides the prestigious title and money prize, Racener also grabbed 300 Card Player of the Year (POY) points, marking his first POY-qualified score of the year.
The 151 PGT points that the fresh win brought to him also helped him climb up to the 32nd position on the leaderboard. Currently, he is ranked as the sixth player in the series-long points race.
The victory also saw his career earnings from tournaments reach a whopping $11,741,702 million.
John Hennigan Leading the Series-Long Points Race
Dzmitry Urbanovic came out 6th and scooped up $25,200 before he was knocked out on Day 1. Racener took the third chip position while getting ready for the second day at the PokerGO Studio located inside ARIA Resort & Casino Las Vegas.
He faced six-time bracelet winner and fresh PGT Mixed Games $5,100 eight-game champion John Hennigan.
Scott Lake was the first to exit the table, securing a 5th position and a $33,600 prize. Next, it was five-time bracelet winner Adam Friedman’s turn to score a $46,200 win and the 4th position.
After sliding to the bottom of the chip counts, Hennigan was eventually eliminated in third place, which brought him a $63,000 prize cash, the third of the series.
With a total of $207,550 in earnings, 207 points, and one title under his belt, Hennigan is currently in the lead of the series-long points race.
Max Hoffman came in second and earned $100,800, also recording his first six-figure tournament score.
