The World Poker Tour (WPT) will once again visit the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in the USA for the 2023 WPT Seminole Rock ‘n’ Roll Open festival, one of the tour’s final stops of the year. Running from November 15-29, the festival features 49 events, culminating in the $3,500 Main Event which comes with a huge $3,000,000 guarantee.
$3M GTD Main Event
As usual, the main attraction of the latest edition of the WPT Seminole Rock ‘n’ Roll Open is the $3,500 Main Event. This year, the WPT has upped the ante for this flagship event, with players set to compete for $3,000,000 in guaranteed prize pool, up from the $2,000,000 offered in the previous year.
The event features two Day 1 flights scheduled for November 24 and 25. Survivors resume the action until a final table is reached. The finale takes place on November 29 and will be live-streamed.
In 2022, the WPT Seminole Rock ‘n’ Roll Open Main Event attracted a 1,541-entry field to generate $4,931,200 in total prize pool, crushing its $2M guarantee by a huge margin. The tournament was ultimately won by UK’s Andy Wilson after outclassing a tough final table comprised of former WPT champs.
Robel Andemichael was the first to leave the final table, finishing 6th for $167,000. Gediminas Uselis, who won the tournament in 2021, failed in his title defense after exiting in 5th place for $219,000. Brian Altman, who has three WPT titles to his name, followed Uselis to the rail in 4th place for $290,000. Chad Eveslage fell one spot short of reaching heads-up play after being eliminated in 3rd place with $390,000 in winnings.
Wilson and Josh Kay were the last two players standing, and in the end it was Wilson who came out on top, walking away with $785,800 in top prize, with his name etched on the prestigious Mike Sexton Champions Cup. He also secured a ticket to the inaugural $10,400 WPT World Championship. Kay took home $525,000 for his runner-up finish.

Apart from the Main Event, the 2023 WPT Seminole Rock ‘n’ Roll Open also includes several other big poker tournament events that players should watch out for, including the $400 buy-in, $2M GTD Deepstack (November 15-18), and a $25,000 buy-in, $1M GTD High Roller (November 27).
